Description

The essential pre-Frankfurt mini-conference, focusing on standards for content, metadata and identification, and the data flows along the physical and digital supply chains.

The independent International Supply Chain Seminar has confirmed its place on the Frankfurt calendar for supply chain and metadata specialists following its re-launch in 2015. The speaker programme for 2018 (full details to be announced) will focus on real-world case studies, standards and best practices, and strategies that use technology to extract the most value from the supply chain. Registration will open at 12:30. The main speaker programme will begin at 1pm, and the programme will be followed at 5:30 by a reception for all delgates to celebrate the first five years of Thema development.

This year, the event will be held in a new location – the offices of MVB in central Frankfurt – which is a short U-bahn ride from the Messe and the Hauptbahnhof. EDItEUR thanks its partners MVB and Frankfurter Buchmesse for helping to make this event possible.

The confirmed programme includes:

  • Johanne Worsaae (Danish Broadcasting Corporation) and Marie Bilde (Pruneau) – A short conversation between neighbouring industries

  • Jane Tappuni (IPR License) – International opportunities in rights using blockchain

  • Arantxa Mellado (ONIXsuite) – Spain and Latin America: a common language, but different publishing scenarios

  • Cristina Mussinelli and Gregorio Pellegrino (Fondazione LIA) – Ebooks for everyone: the mainstream publishing value chain and e-book accessibility metadata

  • Karina Urquhart (BIC) – Standards progress in the UK supply chain

  • Véronique Backert (Dilicom) – E-lending in the French book sector

  • Robert Kasher (Enago) – Making content visible in a multi-lingual world

  • Ruth Pickering (Yewno) – Semantic analysis and optimising discovery

  • Updates from EDItEUR staff – ONIX, ISNI, EDItX, Thema, followed by a reception to celebrate 5 years since the launch of Thema

Ensure you register for the 40th Supply Chain Seminar in good time. Note that ticketing for the Supply Chain Seminar does not include entry to the Book Fair itself for 10–14th October.
